About Me: Why I Photograph Life's Most Important Moments

Photography is our tie to an event that happened last week or many years ago. It’s almost magical, in a way. To capture a fleeting laugh, the joy on a bride’s face—this is the reason we seek out someone to document important moments in our life.

I grew up in a small town in Texas where I spent a lot of time in the fields in search of an adventure. My first camera was a Canon F1. My grandfather gave the camera to me when I was 14. As a war correspondent, he had traveled the world and taught me the value of a single image.

I hold a B.A. in Fine Art Photography from Texas State University. Based in Los Angeles, I am happy to travel worldwide for wedding photography, engagement photography and couples and family photography.

My style is candid and artistic; and I document the inspiration and affection that unfolds during a session between couples and families. I have an unobtrusive presence at weddings and other events, so I am fortunate in that your loved ones (and you, too!) relax quickly, allowing life’s moments to emerge.

When I have my camera in my hand, everything else fades away. I enjoy being a part of documenting the emotion of a wedding or the promise of an engagement. Life is about love and holding our loved ones close.

Long after I’m gone, I want my grandchildren to see the love I had for their grandmother. I want my children to see the love I had for them. And I want to help others do the same.
